Accessibility at Starfish Strength
We want everyone to be able to use this site — including people with disabilities.
Starfish Strength is committed to making our website welcoming and usable for everyone, regardless of ability or the technology you use. Many of the people we coach are older adults or recovering from injury or surgery, so accessibility isn't an afterthought for us — it's part of who we serve.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the widely recognized standard for accessible websites. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to improve the site continually rather than treating it as “done.”
What we've done
- Clear, visible keyboard focus on every interactive element, and a “skip to content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Meaningful text alternatives for images, and descriptive labels on forms.
- Semantic page structure (proper headings and landmarks) so assistive technology can navigate easily.
- Color choices reviewed for readable contrast, and respect for the “reduce motion” setting.
- A layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and larger text sizes.
Where we're still improving
We know accessibility is never finished. We're actively working on refining color contrast in a few areas, strengthening form labeling on our interactive tools, and testing thoroughly with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. If you hit a barrier, we want to hear about it.
